Pregnant Amah and her friend, Elizabeth, had gone to the stream to fetch water near Rumoro river in Ogbakiri community when the gunmen accosted them, took her away and slaughtered her while her unborn baby was removed.

The gunmen later apprehended Elizabeth who fled the scene, killed her and then buried her remains in a nearby bush. Within the same time, the suspected ritualists then attacked Pastor Nheme who was fishing with his son Godknows Iheme. The clergyman was shot dead and his body was taken away by the suspected ritualists.

The fourth victim, Owhonda was fishing in the same river when he was abducted, whisked away to a neighbouring bush, where he was tied on the tree and his body amputated in pieces.

Sources added that after the attack, hundreds of youth in Rumuoro visited the scene in search of their loved ones but could not find any of them.According to community sources, the search team, however, discovered a fishing net, two female clothes, two pairs of male trousers and clothes and a jerry can rubber, all belonging to the victims of the attack.

Confirming the attack, the spokesperson of the state police command, Nnamdi Omoni, said preliminary investigation shows that the attack was carried out by cultists from Okpororo in Ogbakiri. He said the command has intensified efforts to arrest the perpetrators and ensure they are brought to book.
