Several Nigerians have taken to their social media handles to express their minds and thoughts over the fraud and money laundering allegations levelled against the Chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyema by the US Justice Department in Atlanta, Georgia.

WITHIN NIGERIA had earlier reported that the founder and CEO of Air Peace has debunked the allegations and disclosed that his lawyers are ready to defend and prove his innocence in US courts via a press statement.

It partly read thus:

“I am innocent of all charges and the US government will find no dirt on me because I have never conducted business with any illegalities.

“Be rest assured that I also have my lawyers on this and these mere allegations will be refuted. I never laundered money in my life, neither have I committed bank fraud anywhere in the world.

“Every Kobo I transferred to the US for aircraft purchase went through the Central Bank of Nigeria LC regime and all were used for the same purpose, he said.

Below are the reactions of some Nigerians on the matter;

I stand with Allen Onyema Air Peace until he's proven guilty!#Airpeaceo pic.twitter.com/JemMvAoouT

Very sad news👇 https://t.co/XXwjv8uZqM

— Káyọ̀dé Ògúndámisí 🇳🇬 (@ogundamisi) November 22, 2019

Allen Onyema moved 20million dollars to a newly opened US account, which is above the international regulation for money transfer; hence, termed money laundering by US govt.

He's not a fraudster until the source of the wired funds are confirmed. Y'all need to take a chill pill.

— Alex Oluwatobi (@alexlobaloba) November 23, 2019

Allen Onyema purchased 10 airplanes years back.
An American journalist made a phony tweets on how a "3rd world country" business man could afford to purchase that fleet of flight.

Today, They're charging him of Money laundry which they haven't proven (very unlike them).

Chief Allen Onyema never defrauded any American citizen/s nor stole anyone's money. The money is his. The only problem here is that the document & purpose for which the money was moved around is false. Don't be so stupid to call Chief a fraud until proven guilty.

As an individual, I appreciate Allen onyeama for all the 'good' he has done but I am also wise enough to know that they don't make him incapable of committing crime.

The same Allen Onyeama that was rushing to airlift Nigerians from South Africa…

Allen Onyeama smh. Just few weeks back, he warmed his way into my heart. How does one wrap his head around this that the same fellow has been indicted and under investigation for fraud in the US. Nawa o. Se clean money wa leniwhere mo bayi? O ga o.

Whilst I stand with Allen Onyeama, I say let the United States Department of Justice carry out ALL investigations and leave no stones unturned. If he is found guilty, let him face the full wrath of the law. #AirPeaceGate #airpeace

Most of you just shouting about Allen Onyeama case. If it was a politician that this happens to the story will be different. I just want us to be consistent at least.

If it was a Pastor that was accused or charged by the US DOJ, this space won't contain people.

When Nigeria wanted to buy arms to fight Boko Haram during GEJ, & routed the money through South Africa in Private Jets, oppositions then, called it money laundering. Lets pause a bit not to make any comment about this Airpeace CEO, Allen Onyeama alleged indictment in the US.
