Following the ongoing impeachment proceedings rocking US, President Donald Trump has taken his impeachment defense to the American people during a Pennsylvania rally on Tuesday night.
President Trump claimed that the Democrats are embarrassed by the impeachment process against him and called it the ‘lightest quickest’ impeachment in the history of the country.
Recall that President Trump was accused of abuse of office and obstruction of congress by the House Democrats on Tuesday as they filed two articles of impeachment against him as the Democrats plan to impeach him fully before the year’s end.
Trump confident of winning a trial in the Republican controlled separate, claims Democrats are embarrassed by the impeachment decision.
“They’re embarrassed by the impeachment,” Trump said, after taking the stage in Pennsylvania – a critical battleground state for his 2020 campaign.
“This is the lightest, weakest impeachment,” Trump said to a roaring, raucous crowd, questioning why specific “crimes” were not included in the articles.
“This is ‘impeachment light.’ This is the lightest impeachment in the history of the country.”
Trump went on to describe the impeachment as “flimsy” and “pathetic.”
