Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, has vowed to probe past administration from state to local government level in Adamawa state.

The vow followed the Supreme Court judgement on Tuesday, which affirmed the victory of the Governor in the March 9, 2019 governorship election in the state.

Fintiri made the statement at solidarity rally organized Wednesday, to welcome him home after the victory to the state, said the victory is for unity and development to the people of the state.

“Any person or group of persons involved in looting the resources of the state must be investigated.

“I must ensure that state and local government looters return public money to the state.

“No matter their position in the society, they would be probed.”

The governor described the apex court judgement as victory and development to the state, while promising to deliver campaign promises to the people.

Barrister Tahir Shehu, PDP chairman in the state, in his reaction, urged people to join hands with the administration to move the state forward.

Shehu said victory is not for the party along, but for people of the state.

The apex court Tuesday presided over by Justice Adediran Adebara dismissed the petition filed by the APC candidate, former Umar Bindow for lack of merit.

Bindow, lost his re-election bid after he was defeated by the incumbent in the election.

The gubernatorial election petitions tribunal and Court of Appeal had earlier validated Governor Fintiri’s victory in the March 9, 2019 election in the state.
