Gov Makinde confirms 3 new cases of coronavirus in Oyo

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Friday confirmed three (3) new cases of coronavirus also known as COVID-19 in the state.

Makinde, who doubles as chairman of the COVID-19 task force in the state made this announcement in a series of tweets on his verified Twitter handle, Friday night.

With the three new cases, the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Oyo State has risen to 76.

Makinde noted that the three new cases were recorded in Oriire and Oluyole Local Government Areas of the state.

He said that 2 of the 3 new cases were recorded in Oriire of the Ogbomoso geopolitical zone while one case was recorded in Oluyole Local Government of Ibadan zone.

Makinde said, “The COVID-19 confirmation tests for three suspected cases came back positive.

“Two cases are from Oriire Local Government Area and one is from Oluyole Local Government Area.

“So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State as at 8 pm today, is seventy-six.”
