UPDATE: Reason, Identity of married man who set himself and side chic ablaze in Benue unveiled

Report has revealed why a 40-year-old man identified as Nicodemus Nomyange set himself and his girlfriend Shininenge Pam ablaze in Benue State.

Recall that 40-year-old man, Nomyange and Pam died from the fire incident which occurred off Inikpi street, Makurdi in Benue on Saturday, November 14.

The Nation reported that Nomyange has been dating Pam for some time and Nomyange, who is married with children had proposed to marry Pam.

According to sources, Pam turned him down on the basis that she preferred to marry a single and not married man.

Reports further revealed that Nomyange who was apparently hurt following rejection by Pam, proceeded to her apartment on Saturday evening and set it ablaze after locking everyone inside.

The lovers got burnt despite intervention made by neighbours to safe them from the fire.

However, the married man, Nomyange reportedly lost his life at the spot while his side chick, Pam later died on the way to the hospital.

Reacting to the sad development, the Police Public Relations Officer, Kate Anene confirmed the incident.

He further stated that the bodies of the married man and his lover have been taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Makurdi and deposited by officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) who were at the scene.
