A 5-year-old girl has been allegedly raped by a 50-year-old man who is HIV positive in Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the sad and tragic incident was reported to a Benue activist identified as Ukan Kurugh by a medical officer at the General Hospital in Naka.

According to the Benue activist, the suspect who is HIV positive has also confessed to have repeatedly molested the child.

The activist is currently investigating the case.

In other news, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that following the alleged rape of a 15-year-old girl, who recently had surgery, a chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA in the Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State is currently on the run.

This was made known by some elders of the under the aegis of the Otada Elders’ Council.

The elders in the Otada community where the incident happened in a statement, mentioned that it was regrettable the victim had to suffer the terrible experience in the hands of the alleged rapist, who disappeared shortly after the incident, The Punch reports.
