Voltaire claimed that history was nothing more than a record of wrongdoings and tragedies. Given that it reflected his concept of history, Voltaire was likely thinking of the 12th of February in Nigerian history when he gave this description of history.

Following the murder of police officers in cold blood on February 12, five horrible episodes occurred that changed the course of Nigerian history and revealed the country’s security structure as being weak.

However, when security personnel killed and apprehended kidnappers, bandits, and criminals, it also demonstrated the effectiveness of our security system. Even though these events were unfortunate, they served as a reminder of our dark times and a testament to our country’s resolve to always overcome its difficulties.
