  • Three siblings were allegedly killed in Nnewichi, Nnewi, Anambra state on Saturday, February 1, 2025
  • Their lifeless bodies were discovered inside deep freezer in their house after fruitless search for their whereabouts
  • Police confirm the incident, says investigation is ongoing to unravel the mystery behind their death

It is still difficult to know how to narrate exactly what happened to three siblings in Nnewichi Nnewi, Anambra state which led to dumping their bodies inside freezer.

Our source revealed that three siblings that include a boy aged 5, and two girls aged 7 and 9 respectively, were reportedly murdered and inserted into a deep freezer at a residence by yet to be identified assailants.

It was gathered that the eldest of the siblings, a girl, Ejezie Chikaima Daviana, with the second daughter, Ejezie Chimziterem Dominica and the only son, Edozie Chimdilim David, were in the house when their mother, Mrs Chikazor Ejezie, said to be a lecturer and a nurse, left the house to partake in an examination on the fateful day.

The incident our reporter gathered happened on Saturday, February 1, 2025.

However, on return from the examination in the evening, the mother met the house widely opened as it was unusual as the children always locked the door whenever they went out in the absence of their parents.

The three deceased siblings

However, on Monday February 3, the dad made a press release, explaining how his three kids were killed.

In any case, making this known to journalists, father to the deceased siblings, Mr Ejezie Udobi, who is based in Irrua, Edo State, said he was called and told about the incident by his wife and he had to rush to Nnewichi.

“My wife told me after searching for the kids by herself and a search party, without success, they almost got discouraged.

“Eventually, in desperation, they opened the deep freezer, and that’s where their bodies were found. We live in a bungalow with two tenants and our landlord. The children were eating when the attackers came around noon. There were still plates with food that looked like they had been left in a hurry.

“In the house, bungalow where we live with two tenants and the landlord, the kids were eating when the assailants stormed the house at about noon as there was traces of food in plates that were like forcefully abandoned.

“The corpses of the kids have been deposited at a morgue and the police, Central Police Station, CPS Nnewi, is where we reported the matter and the police are investigating. You can see that I am completely devastated. My three kids killed same time by yet to be identified assailants”

Police confirm the incident

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Itam, has ordered a full investigation.

Gov. Soludo: Anambra state governor

“The bodies have been recovered, and the CP has transferred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Awka for thorough investigation. More details will be shared later,” Ikenga said.

Nnewi residents demand immediate and fruitful investigation

Meanwhile, residents of Nnewichi have called for a proper investigation and justice for the murdered children.

One of the residents, Sunday Onah in a telephone chat told WITHIN NIGERIA that the residents are waiting patiently for the police to conclude their investigation and know what next to do.

According to Mr. Onah, ” if the result of the investigation and subsequent prosecution do not satisfy the residents, then we will take the next line of action. We cannot leave this lying like this. Enough is enough in this state.”
