On Monday, December 9, 2025, renowned Nigerian-born boxer Anthony Joshua narrowly escaped death in a fatal road accident along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State.
Two male foreign nationals, namely Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele, reportedly lost their lives in the accident, which involved a sport utility vehicle travelling from Lagos to Sagamu.

Sina Ghami was Joshua’s personal friend and strength and conditioning coach, while Latif Ayodele was Joshua’s personal trainer and close confidant.
Remains of the victims have been deposited at the Livewell Mortuary in Sagamu, while relevant authorities have been directed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident, according to the Ogun State Government.

Popular skit-maker and singer Nasiru Bolaji, better known as Nasboi, on June 4 escaped a terrible accident that nearly claimed his life.
Nasboi, who was on his 36-state “Davido-verse” tour, reportedly smashed head-on into a parked trailer with his car.
The front end of his car was totally wrecked, but he walked away without a scratch.
The comic actor, via his Instagram, thanked God for his life, saying no injuries were sustained, not a single scratch, and credited his survival to divine intervention.
He further disclosed that the tour had become bigger than a verse from Davido despite the mangled car and pleas to stop, saying it has become a personal mission of resilience.
Angel Ifiemi

Nigerian actor and model Angel Unigwe, better known as Angel Ifiemi, on Saturday night, June 14, 2025, survived a terrible accident while driving along an undisclosed route in Lagos.
According to eyewitnesses, the front and side of his car took heavy damage, leaving the vehicle mangled beyond repair.
“He was pulled from the wreck by passers-by before emergency responders arrived,” eyewitnesses further explained.
Peterson Okopi

Nigerian gospel singer Adikwu Peterson Okopi, better known as Peterson Okopi, on Saturday, May 17, 2025, escaped a terrible accident after his car got involved in a serious collision.
According to reports, the front of his vehicle was badly smashed, with broken glass and a crumpled hood.
Okopi, while posting pictures of the wreck on Instagram, disclosed that the crash was severe but thanked God he walked away unharmed—“nothing missing, nothing broken.”
However, he did not provide exact details of how or where the accident happened but rather used the moment to promote his upcoming worship event, “The Inner Court (Thanksgiving),” on 31 May, 2025.

Super Eagles player Victor Boniface on Sunday, December 28, 2025, survived a car accident.
He was reportedly a passenger in his Mercedes‑Benz heading to Frankfurt airport after Bayer Leverkusen’s 2‑1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.
The driver, who was fatigued, lost control of the vehicle, veered into the right lane, and collided with a truck.
However, Boniface sustained minor hand injuries as a result of the impact that caused the Mercedes to overturn.
