Most of these are rare genetic and neurological disorders that show up in infancy or early childhood. Aicardi syndrome, for example, is a genetic condition that almost exclusively affects girls and disrupts normal brain development. Lafora disease and MMPSI both involve severe, progressive seizure activity. On the other end of the spectrum, four of the new additions are aggressive cancers: hepatosplenic T-cell lymphoma, primary cardiac sarcoma, primary intracranial malignant melanoma, and uveal melanoma once it has spread beyond the eye.
