Alibaba debunks rumours on marital crisis

Atunyota Alleluya Akporobomerere popularly known as Ali Baba, an ace Nigerian comedian, has put to rest rumours of his marriage with his wife Mary Akpobome going apart.

The 55-year-old shared a picture of himself and wife in an Instagram post on Thursday.

According to him, he had left home to be isolated when he caught the coronavirus.

“We have gotten calls and messages about the status of our marriage. We are still married and we thank everyone who sent messages and were concerned about the rumour which started because I was not home during Christmas and New Year celebrations.

“There was no need to explain to everyone that I was in isolation. And we thank God I pulled through. We appreciate your best wishes,” he wrote.

Rumours that his wife allegedly kicked him out of their home at Victoria Garden City over allegations of infidelity made rounds on social media.

Meanwhile, news had it that Ali Baba relocated to his office somewhere in the high brow part of town after he was sent packing.

In January, the comedian revealed he spent the Christmas and New year in isolation.

“Don’t let anyone tell you it’s a scam. I just came out of isolation. Several people died while I was there. Some of my close friends knew and they were very supportive,” he wrote in the caption.

“COVID is real. Observe all the protocols. People are dying. And it’s not a joke,” he added.
