Nigerian thespian, Lanre Hassan, popularly known as ‘Iya Awero’ in Nollywood movies, has been presented with a three-bedroom apartment gift by the Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The governor gifted the ace actress the house following an information that got to his office about how Iya Awero is about to be homeless because of her inability to pay the landlord of her rented apartment.
The keys to the apartment were presented to Iya Awero at the commissioning of the LagosHoms 2B Housing Scheme (now known as Prince Abiodun Ogunleye Housing Estate) in Igbogbo axis of Ikorodu.
Jubril Gawat, the governor’s aide on new media, shared broke the news on twitter alongside a video of Iya Awero receiving the house keys from the governor.
“UPDATE: Governor of Lagos State, Mr @jidesanwoolu today presented a gift of 3 bedroom flat at the Commissioned Prince Abiodun Ogunleye Housing Scheme to a Nollywood Veteran, Mrs Lanre Hassan Adesina Aka IYA AWERO to cater for her urgent housing need,” he wrote.
