Mayowa, a contestant at the 2021 Nigerian Idol, has reacted after his video went viral online on Monday, March 29, 2021.
The aspiring musician performed in front of the judges, hoping to impress them, but his efforts were rubbished by Nigerian singer Seyi Shay, who was one of the three judges.
Seyi Shay insulted the young talent, asked him to return to those who advised him to attend the audition and tell them they are not his friends because his audition was bad.
Seyi Shay lambasted the contestant, stressing that his performance was dreadful, unlike his sweet talking voice. She added that he would never make money from singing, but commended his songwriting ability.
Responding to Seyi Shay’s harsh comments, Mayowa said he was emotionally and psychologically broken, but he keeps his hopes on God.
“This broke me emotionally and psychologically, but God got me!!” he wrote.
