Despite the troubles unions in the limelight face, popular Nigerian celebrity couple, Omotola Jalade and Captain Ekeinde, have surprisingly managed to be married for 25 years.
In an interview with Chude Jidenowo, the Nollywood actress, frankly spoke about her marriage and explained how they have managed to come this far.
The movie star said that they chose each other as a partner in life and have made sure to be open about things. Omotola said it is easy to relate with her husband because they both know what they stand for.
Explaining further, she said they are partners in life and if they have issues they make sure to discuss it. The movie star added that they both have their journeys in life and only chose to make it with the other. She added that even if they are not with each other, they would still make that journey. In her words: “We are partners alright and I have a journey, I chose to make that journey with you. “You have a journey; I chose to make that journey with you. With or without you, I will make my journey. With or without me, he will make his journey.”
Also in the interview, the mother of four said that she and her husband understand that she is with him because she chose to and not because she has to. She said they respect each other’s choices, space and wholesomeness. The actress who was named as one of TIME’s 100 most influential people in 2013 also disclosed that her man knows they are not with each other because she loves him all the time.

In another clip shared from the interview, Omotola spoke on how people who do not know her think she is arrogant. According to her, she is the total opposite of that when she is with close friends.
