American rapper, Earl Simmons, famously known as DMX, has passed away at 50.
DMX’s family officially confirmed his death on Friday, April 9, 2021. This is coming after different contradictory reports said the rapper was not dead.
DMX was, on April 2, hospitalised, following a drug-induced “catastrophic cardiac arrest” that left him in a coma state.
The rapper’s family described him as a warrior who loved his family until his death. The statement read;
“Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end. He loved his family with all of his heart, and we cherish the times we spent with him,” the family said.
They added that his music “inspired countless fans across the world, and his iconic legacy will live on forever.”
DMX died with relatives by his side after spending several days on life support.
