Why I played role of ‘Ade Tiger’ in King of Boys – Titi Kuti

Titi Kuti, a talented Nigerian actor, model and Tv personality, who played the role of ‘Ade Tiger’ in ‘King of Boys 2’- The return of the King, has explained why he accepted the role.

King of Boys 2, a seven-episode Netflix adapted series directed by Kemi Adetiba, has been trending in Nigeria since its release in August, 2021.

The ‘Ade Tiger’ character in King of Boys 1 transitioned to one of the main characters in King of Boys ‘The return of the King’ which got Nigerians talking.

When asked what inspired him to take the role, Kuti, speaking with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu in a recent interview, said he was inspired by his drive to take risks.

“Adetiba is a risk taker and I’m on board with that because I love taking positive risks. That’s why I took the role of ‘Ade Tiger’.

“It was just me maximizing myself, I believe you can be anything once you have the will and talent,” Titi Kuti said.

“There are actors who had a bigger marketing strategy for the movie but Kemi Adetiba just asked me ‘Will you do it not can you do it’ and I was willing to take that chance with her.

“I’m attracted to risk takers and was willing to take that on my dream.”

When asked of the pressure on him after the release of ‘King of Boys 2’, Ade Tiger said although he is not in Nigeria to feel the buzz, he feels good.

“Presently I’m not in Nigeria to feel that buzz but I’m happy ‘King of Boys’ is getting this reception from everybody. It makes me feel good, there is nothing more satisfying than seeing your dream come to pass,” he said.
