Chioma Odimba in Mamma Mia: The Smash hit musical

Chioma Odimba, a delectable theatre practitioner, made a bold statement as Donna in the FirstBank-sponsored Mamma Mia: The Smash hit musical.

Odimba took over the heart and soul of the musical during the two-hour show, which is woven with shades of cultural colors visible in the language, gesture, costume, choreography, and characteristics.

As a member of the 65 Nigerian casts and crew licensed adaptation of the global show, the breathless Odimba gave veteran actor Jide Kosoko a run for his money.

Chioma Odimba’s elocution left the audience in awe of her abilities as she sprinkled the ABBA classics with her unrivaled passion while on stage, showing her controlled acting and pace.

Mamma Mia is an adaptation of the original musical created in 1998 by British theatre producer Judith Cramer, who commissioned British playwright Catherine Johnson to write a story woven around the multiple hit songs of Swedish pop group ABBA, composed by Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson.

It is directed by Najite Dede and executive produced by Ireti Bakare-Yusuf.

Mamma Mia: The smash hit musical is one of 11 events sponsored by FirstBank as part of the Decemberissavybe campaign.
