The seventh season of Nigerian Idol has officially kicked off on Sunday, 6 February.

The wannabe celebrities trooped en-masse in their bid to kick-start their journey to stardom. Some of the musical talents who auditioned expressed their optimism to be selected among the top 500 contestants who will emerge from the live audition to the next stages.

TV personality and Nigerian idol Host, IK Osakioduwa caught up with some Season 7 hopefuls during the audition phase and decided to test their knowledge about some of their favorite entertainment celebrities.

Nigerian Idol Judges this Season, Dbanj, Simi and Obi Asika are a dynamic bunch. From their witty and fun nature to the sound musical advice they give, they are no doubt a welcomed spark to Nigerian Idol Season 7.

D’banj’s unexpected duet

The last thing anyone would have thought of happening on the first day of auditions was a musical collaboration between the Koko Master D’banj and a contestant. However, this unexpected collaboration happened with Obinna who despite not getting a ‘Yes’, made the best of his moment with D’banj.

GOLDEN TICKET’S LUCKY CONTESTANT

Every Nigerian Idol season, we see contestants sing their heart out at the auditions. Still, only a handful gets the coveted golden ticket that takes them to the next stage.

Azuka, Emmanuella, Enato, Chris, Faith, Itohan, Gerald, David, Abigail, Emmanuel, Praise, Jane and Jitey all received golden tickets to the next round.
