TNC Africa, the film and TV production company committed to telling original African stories has wrapped up principal photography for its first Yoruba TV series titled ‘Ololade.’

The TV series set in Lagos, tells the story of two friends, Shina, a down-on-his-luck high school teacher, and Lateef, a lousy, dishonest auto-mechanic playboy, who both find money in strange ways.

They decide to start a business with their newfound fortune in order to create the life they had always envisaged for themselves. They are not, however, prepared for the bad luck that follows them shortly after.

Kunle Idowu (Frank Donga), Adebowale Adedayo (Mr. Macaroni), Oluwatobi Olubiyi (Oli Ekun), Debby Felix, and Ayanwale Olanrewaju feature alongside Femi Adebayo, Mercy Aigbe, Mide Martins, Liz Da-Silva, Jaiye Kuti, and Damilola Oni in the dark drama series.

‘Ololade’ is directed by Adeniyi Joseph popularly known as TAJ.

TAJ describes ‘Ololade,’ which has a writing team led by Lani Aisida (My Name Is A-Zed), as a show with an unpredictable plot, layered with suspenseful moments and intense drama, grounded in the nuance of Yoruba culture and language, providing it with a level of authenticity that would appeal to all Nigerians, regardless of an ethnic group.

“The love of money, they say, is the root of all evil but in Ololade you will find out that money is just an innocent tool that brings out the evil that is already there.”

‘Ololade’ will be the first TNC Africa original content for 2022, joining the likes of ‘My Name is A-zed,’ ‘Little Black Book,’ ‘Our Best Friend’s Wedding,’ and the audio series ‘Asoebi.’
