Chinonso Arubayi’s feature film, ‘I Am Nazzy’ to premiere in April

Nollywood actress turned producer, Chinonso Arubayi, has released the first look of her upcoming feature film, ‘I Am Nazzy’ which will debut in April.

The romantic comedy is directed by Kayode Peters (‘My Flatmates’) and tells the story of a budding music star whose picture-perfect existence goes awry when she mistakenly switches places with a doppelganger.

All attempts to establish her identity fail, and she is thrust into a new existence devoid of the glitz and glamour.

Chinonso Arubayi leads the cast of ‘I Am Nazzy’ which also includes IK Ogbonna, Jidekene Achufusi, Jimmy Odukoya, Denrele Edun, and Nons Miraj.

Arubayi, who also serves as the film’s producer, claimed that the romcom is strongly focused on issues such as mental health advocacy.

“The movie is an exciting romantic comedy that advocates for mental health. It is nothing like you’ve seen from Nollywood.

“Lately, with ‘I Am Nazzy’ I have caught myself asking ‘who sent me?’ But a friend of mine reminded me that whenever you catch yourself asking that question you are actually on track. She alluded to how pregnant women ask themselves the exact same question in the labor room and go right back and do it all over again. Thanks for the amazing feedback, support, and for embarking on this journey with me.”
