The ‘do not sell your vote’ catchphrase seems to have very little meaning to Mary Lazarus.
Nollywood actress, Mary Lazarus has revealed that she’ll gladly collect money from any politician canvassing for votes. The movie star made this known via her Instagram stories.
She shared her strategy for the 2023 elections noting that the offerings by these politician is her share of the national cake and anyone offered money should take it too.
Mary Lazarus revealed that the money being offered is from the national purse and even though she collects it, she would use her head during voting period.
She however failed to put into account that the politicians who offer her money would demand an endorsement from her and that endorsement can influence other people’s voting choice. She wrote:
“If any politician gives me money to vote for him or her, I will gladly collect the money. Na my money… especially the ones wey don rule before…but I go use my head vote.”
Lazarus’ post comes days after her colleague and reality TV star, Ifu Ennada lambasted celebrities who plan to collect money from aspiring politicians.
Ifuennada joined the list of celebrities who have taken a bold stance on the next general elections.
