What I Learnt From Simi, D’Banj, Obi Asika —Nigerian Idol Winner Progress

Nigerian Idol Winner Progress

Progress Chukwuyem, winner of the just concluded Nigerian Idol 2022, has narrated what he absorbed from judges Simi, D’Banj and Obi Asika during the music reality show.

Progress, who stole the show with his talent and enviable performances, danced home with the 30 million Naira prize, spoke highly of the judges when discussing with the Punch.

For Simi, Progress said, “she is a very unique singer, who has her own sound and style. One thing I learnt from her is staying true to one’s sound. She once told me I had a soft spot in her heart because she understands what it means when people put one in a box (musically).”

He added that from D’Banj; he learnt the ability to carry the crowd along in the best possible way, while he applauded Obi’s sense of judgement.

“Obi (Asika) is someone who understands music. His judgment is usually straightforward. When he sees a unique thing in one, he lets one know,” Promise said.
