Why I got Oscar invitation – Daniel K. Daniel

Actor Daniel K. Daniel has responded to critics who questioned how he got an invitation to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (organizers of the Oscars), saying that he did not get the invitation because he is based in the United States.

According to the father of one, people thought he would become a security guard or become an employee at Mcdonald’s when he first relocated to the US. The thespian wrote:

“It’s so funny that when I moved to the US, people said I would become a security guard or work at McDonald’s. Now that I’m invited to the Academy, them still dey talk say na because I dey Yankee! E no correlate. Guys don’t hate the player, hate the game,”

Daniel was invited alongside actress Funke Akindele and filmmaker Blessing Egbe to join the voting class of 2022.

Funke got recognitions for Omo Ghetto: The Saga and Jenifa, Daniel K. Daniel; A Soldier’s Story and Fugitive and Blessing Egbe for African Messiah.

The invitees will be allowed voting privileges at the upcoming Oscars if they accept the invites.

Celebrating his latest achievement in an Instagram post, Daniel wrote:

“Ladies and Gents, Say hello to the newest member of –
