Nigerian comedian Mr Macaroni has hit back at Prophet Israel Oladele of the Celestial Church of Christ Genesis Global parish for advising his church members to vote based on tribal sentiment in the coming 2023 presidential election.
Oladele was captured in a video expressing his support for Bola Tinubu, the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 presidential election because he is Yoruba, the same tribe he belongs.
“I cannot be a Yoruba boy and vote for Igbo boy. I will vote for Tinubu, I support Tinubu. Take it or not, I don’t care,” these were recent words of Prophet Israel Oladele while addressing his church members (see video at the end of post).
Reacting to the video, Mr Macaroni, a known activist, warned his followers to avoid religious leaders like Oladele, who has chosen to neglect good leadership qualities for tribal corn.
“Dear Nigerians, If your religious leader is asking you to abandon all the qualities of a good leader and vote for the next President of this Nation just because you are from the same tribe as the candidate, then there is serious fire on the mountain. RUN!! Vote Wisely,” Mr Macaroni shared on Twitter.
