Multi-award-winning rapper and music producer Kiernan Jarryd Forbes better known by his stage name AKA has died.
According to reports, the 35-year-old rapper was shot dead outside a popular restaurant on Florida Rd in Durban.
Police confirmed that the music star and his bodyguard had been shot dead in the late hours of Friday.
It is understood that AKA was standing outside the Wish Restaurant when he was gunned down in a drive-by shooting.
Two unknown cars are believed to have opened fire just before 10pm.
Police had cordoned off the area when an IOL team arrived at the scene on Friday night.
It remains unclear what the motive for the shooting was.
The sad development came to light after social media users took to Twitter with a video revealing that AKA had been gunned down.
