BBNaija’s Pere, Seyi Law, and Noble Igwe exchange words over tribalistic differences

The debate about superiority complex among specific ethnic group reared its head again during recent exchange between Nigerian celebrities Pere Egbi, Seyi Law, and Noble Igwe.

The brouhaha started when actor and reality TV star, Pere Egbi, via Twitter, opined the political challenges faced by Igbo tribes in the country and had questioned the notion of why people believe the ‘Igbos’ cannot rule the country.

He wrote;

“The hate against the Igbos in Nigeria is real. I AM NOT even Igbo or Yoruba or Hausa and I feel for them. Someone who is in politics once told me that “an Igbo person can never rule Nigeria”. If say Jesus no hold my right hand that day, I for slap am.

Online I see lots of hate toward the Igbo tribe. This is coming from people within the political space. We have a serious problem in Nigeria and we need to be honest about it and face it head on. This is unfair”

In response to Pere’s tweet, Comedian Seyi Law, penned a seemingly long narrative where, in summary, he stated how individualistic the Igbo tribe could be; while he believed that politics is a collective effort.

Seyi believes this individualistic concept, among other noted points, could solely have been why people make such utterances.

Reacting, Media entrepreneur Noble Igwe, aimed a dig at the comedian, questioned why Seyi Law got married to an Igbo lady.

Igwe wrote;

“The Yorubas are not cheats, they understand life , business and politics, they respect their elders but you didn’t consider any one of them good enough to call WIFE but went to settle down with an Ebere.”
