- The music icon, whose marital union with Actress Annie Idibia has weathered tumultuous scandals lately, affirmed that he was deeply wounded by the severe allegations of him neglecting his parental responsibilities towards children.
Legendary Nigerian musician, Innocent Ujah Idibia, aka 2Baba, has addressed claims of him being an absentee father to some of his kids.
2face, while appearing in the latest episode of the Afrobeats podcast hosted by British-Nigerian media personality, Adesope Olajide, berated some Nigerians for being excessively nosy about his family matters.
The dad of seven bemoaned the fact that Nigerians who accused him being a negligent father to his children have never volunteered to foot the bill for the school fees of a single one among them.
2baba admitted that inasmuch as he pretends to have grown a thick skin to Nigerians’ criticisms of his family over the years, he still gets hurt sometimes.
The African Crooner said;
“Many people talk about kids, fatherhood, motherhood, all that whole circle. Many people talk about it with public opinion type of thinking. But it’s deeper than that. There’s nobody that has the exact blueprint for this thing.
“The basic truth of the whole matter is the connection with you and your little ones [children]. There is so many different ways to find it. There’s no one rule or one particular way.
“I speak to my kinds like say they be my mates. I don’t boss them around. I talk to them the way I talk to my friends and mom.
“I get a lot of jabs [trolling]. I got a lot of people that say stuff about me. People have trolled me severally on social media. And, sometimes it hurts. Sometimes some people will just go on social media to say rubbish. It’s just like terrorists bombing innocent people.
“And I will start wondering how till today, none of those critics the way they are concerned about my family come to assist in paying my children’s school fees. Not even a single soul.”

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that 2Baba married one of his three baby mamas, actress Annie Macaulay in a private ceremony in 2012.
The marriage has been trailed by scandals in recent years with Annie accusing the 2Baba’s first baby mama, Pero Adeniyi of still having a secret affair with the singer.
Also there have been rumours of the singer impregnating another woman and being a deadbeat dad to some of his children.
