Mohbad: Video of Naira Marley and Sam Larry in court as Judge remands them
  • Late singer Mohbad’s boss, Naira Marley and socialite, Sam Larry, have been remanded in police custody for 21 days.
  • Footage of both individuals exiting the courthouse following the Magistrate’s verdict has been widely disseminated.

Nigerian musician Naira Marley and socialite Sam Larry have been placed under police custody for a period of 21 days. A video has emerged of them at the court premises.

Popular movie star Tonto Dikeh posted a video of the men after a Magistrate Court that sat in the Yaba, Lagos State, on Wednesday, October 4, delivered the judgement.

In the footage, both Naira Marley and Sam Larry, both wearing masks, descended the courthouse stairs accompanied by their legal representatives, while onlookers captured the scene.

Naira Marley and others were arraigned by the Lagos State Police Command before the magistrate court and demanded that they should be in custody for the next 30 days while the investigation was ongoing.

But the Magistrate, Adeola Olatunbosun, ordered that the Marlian boss and others should be remanded for 21 days.

Since the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, over alleged bullying of the late singer, many have called for their arrest. Although they both denied allegations that they were responsible for the singer’s death, several Nigerians have asked police to investigate them due to their past clash with the singer.

Mohbad left Marlian Records, owned by Naira Marley, on a controversial note in 2022.

The court ruling came at about the same time when the police declared Primeboy, a friend of Mohbad, wanted.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos police spokesperson, said Primeboy failed to comply with the invitation regarding the investigation into Mohbad’s death.

The police also offered a reward of N1 million to anyone with useful information that would lead to his arrest.

Thousands of Nigerians have demanded justice for Mohbad in nationwide protests.

On September 21, the police exhumed Mohbad’s corpse for autopsy and are awaiting the results.
