Popular Nigerian footballer and Barcelona striker, Asisat Oshoala has taken to her Snapchat handle to issue a cautionary message to individuals flooding her direct messages (DMs) with financial requests.
In a stern warning posted on her Snapchat account, Oshoala expressed her frustration with the increasing number of individuals seeking monetary assistance for reasons she deems to be lacking in common sense.
The footballer cited examples such as individuals claiming their wives have just given birth or that they intend to organize weddings, using these circumstances as grounds to request financial support.
Oshoala clarified that while she enjoys helping people, there are limits to the situations she is willing to condone or support.
She urged individuals to exercise common sense and set their priorities right.
“While I enjoy having fun here, there are certain things that should be common sense. I help a lot of people here, but there are situations I won’t condone or support, such as ‘MY WIFE JUST GAVE BIRTH,’ ‘I WANT TO HAVE A WEDDING,’ and so on. Use your common sense. Set your priorities right!!,” Asisat Oshoala wrote.
Following her message, numerous supporters and concerned individuals took to social media platforms to express their solidarity with Oshoala’s stance.
