‘He’s redefined what it means to be modern monarch’ – Saraki hails Olu Of Warri at 40
  • The Olu of Warri designate was born in April 1984 to Godwin Toritseju Emiko, the late Ogiame Atuwatse II, and Gladys Durorike Emiko.
  • Emiko is the first Olu of Warri in over two centuries whose mother was alive to see him ascend the throne.

Bukola Saraki, a former president of the senate has enthusiastically praised Ogiame Atuwatse III, 21st Olu of Warri on his 40th birthday.

In a congratulatory message on Tuesday, the former governor of Kwara said the monarch “has redefined what it means to be a modern monarch.”

“His Royal Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, the 21st Olu of Warri has redefined what it means to be a modern monarch. His reign has been one of action, guided by a deep understanding of both local and global issues. Most importantly, his commitment to uplifting the Itsekiri people is an inspiration to all,” Saraki wrote on X.

“Today, as His Royal Majesty celebrates his 40th birthday, my family and I join the Itsekiri nation in celebrating this historic occasion.
