Charly Boy, the veteran maverick singer and entertainer, has alleged that the President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government is plotting to arrest Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, due to his persistent criticism of the administration.
On his X handle, he issued a stern warning, asserting that any move to arrest or prosecute Obi would provoke unprecedented resistance unparalleled in Nigeria’s history.
Charly Boy urged the Federal Government to exercise caution and refrain from igniting nationwide unrest by avoiding any illegal arrest of Peter Obi.
He wrote;
“There’s a report of an attempt of arrest on Peter Obi, by Tinubu’s Government over Peter Obi’s consistent refusal to back down on calling Tinubu out towards good governance and accountability.
“Any arrest or charges against Obi must be met with a resistance as never seen in the history of Nigeria before, and the Obidients are ready for it. Tinubu’s government must trend with caution not to set this nation on fire with an illegal arrest of HE Peter Obi. We call on Tinubu’s government to desist from her evil plans against Peter Obi because Nigeria will not remain the same.”

Peter Obi, not too long ago, had tweeted on his handle that Tinubu is creating more unemployment and destroying investments that paid taxes, as the Landmark Beach Resort, worth $200 million, was adversely affected.
The former Anambra governor lamented that thousands of jobs are about to be lost, with over 100,000 jobs in the leisure and hospitality sector facing imminent extinction, along with 80 small businesses and their 4,000 mostly youth employees.
