Reality TV star and singer Hazel Oyeze Onou, popularly known as Whitemoney, has issued a stern warning to his fellow celebrities, urging them to settle their debts with their designers after the 10th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).

This comes after a glamorous night at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, where Nigerian and African stars showcased their fashion prowess on Saturday.

In a video message shared on his Instagram account, the former Big Brother Naija winner, expressed his decision to skip the event, jesting about the high fashion bar set by his contemporaries.

He highlighted Neo Akpofure’s striking ensemble, Elozonam’s celestial white garb, and Saga’s playful pink attire, likening them to sartorial masterpieces.

He humorously remarked on the high price tag that accompanies such AMVCA-worthy attire, including the cost of a stylist, which could soar to a million naira or more.

Whitemoney, who identifies more with music than acting, shrugged off the pressure of the AMVCA.

He quipped about the exorbitant cost for a one-time outfit and praised the ladies for their show-stopping appearances.

Whitemoney cautions against defaulting on payments to designers, emphasizing the importance of avoiding public embarrassment after making stylish statements on the red carpet.

“I’ve been getting calls about my absence from the AMVCA. How would I go, are you not seeing what these brothers are wearing?

“Take a look at Neo Akpofure’s dress. Elozonam was dripping in an all-white outfit like an angel deported from heaven to go create his own heaven on earth. Saga was like all these pink Barbie gentlemen. His dress was awesome. I can’t match their styles. To make an outfit befitting for the AMVCA, you would spend not less than one million naira and you will still have to pay for a stylist.

“I’m not an actor so I’m not even bothered. AMVCA na pressure. Imagine paying over a million naira for a dress you would only wear once. The ladies were just killing it. Next year we move. I can’t relate. But please, make sure you pay your designers in full to avoid them calling you out on social media.”
