Nigerian entrepreneur and socialite, Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu, better known as Cubana Chief Priest, has explained why he moved his business from the South-East to Lagos.

In an interview with BBC Igbo, he cited insecurity in the South-East as the primary reason for the relocation.

Cubana Chief Priest pointed out that locals often aid the perpetrators of these crimes.

He emphasized the role of community members in providing information to criminals, exacerbating the situation.

Cubana Chief Priest further bemoaned the envy among South Easterners which he claimed was the root cause of all the crimes in the region.

In his words:

“There is widespread hunger in the South-East. It is our own community members who provide criminals with information.

“Our people began targeting the wealthy, so the wealthy stopped returning home during festivities. That’s why I moved to Lagos to conduct my business.”
