“I felt stupid after my ex broke my heart” – Victony

Afrobeats singer Anthony Victor, popular known as Victony, has shared his experience with heartbreak during an episode of the ‘Is This Seat Taken?’ podcast hosted by actress Chinasa Anukam.

Victony recounted discovering the truth about his ex-girlfriend’s relationship with another guy, which left him feeling betrayed and deceived.

He expressed feeling “mad” and “stupid” upon realizing that his ex-girlfriend had lied about the nature of her relationship with the other guy.

According to Victony, his ex-girlfriend initially claimed that the guy was just a friend, but he became suspicious due to how frequently her friend’s name came up in their conversations.

Eventually, it became evident that she had been romantically involved with him behind his back.

Reflecting on the experience, the 23-year-old singer expressed how deeply the betrayal affected him, particularly because of his openness and trust in his ex-girlfriend’s explanations.

He revealed that the heartbreak occurred when he was younger.

In his words;

“She [my ex-girlfriend] was talking to this other guy and I was aware. She was telling me about this other guy. Me, very open-minded, I was like, this guy was just her friend.

“She told me he was her friend but his name just always came up. And I will be like, what kind of friend is this one?

“At the end of the day, it turned out he was not her friend. That was very mad because when I realised everything that was going on, I felt very stupid.”
