Nigerian social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman, has voiced his concerns regarding the recent #EndBadGovernance and Hunger Dey protests.

The protests, which began with a large turnout on their first day, have reportedly seen intense clashes and chaotic movements at sensitive locations in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

In a statement shared via Instagram, Verydarkman urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to address the escalating situation urgently.

He suggested that President Tinubu should take immediate measures, such as reducing the fuel price to N150, to alleviate growing public frustration while seeking long-term solutions to economic challenges.

Verydarkman also explained his decision not to join the protest on the first day, noting that his presence might have intensified the unrest.

He further recommended that the president consider declaring a state of emergency to address the demands of the protesting youths and prevent further escalation.

In his words;

“The #EndBadGovernance protests have gotten out of hand. I’m scared. President Tinubu should declare a state of emergency in Nigeria and address the demands of the youths. If Day 1 of the protest is like this, then you can imagine what they’ll do next.”
