How my daughter was asked to inflate contract from N3m to N33m – Pastor Adeboye

In the silent spaces between Pastor Adeboye’s words, there is a deep, unspoken sorrow for a nation that has strayed so far from the light. His message is a lament for what could have been, a cry for a lost generation of Christians who have allowed themselves to be swept away by the tides of corruption

How my daughter was asked to inflate contract from N3m to N33m – Pastor Adeboye
  • Pastor Adeboye has delivered a hard-hitting wake-up call to Nigerians, particularly the Christian community, amidst the unyielding grip of corruption in the nation.
  • The revered RCCG general overseer didn’t mince words, urging Christians to break free from the chains of compromise that have allowed corruption to flourish unchecked in Nigeria.
  • He recounted the troubling tale of how one of his ‘daughters’ was pressured to bloat a N3 million contract to a staggering N33 million, exposed the deep-seated rot that continues to fester within the country’s moral fabric

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the revered General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has laid bare the staggering depths of corruption in Nigeria, with a powerful and eye-opening revelation.

During the sixth day of the RCCG’s 72nd annual convention, held on Saturday, August 10, at the Redemption City in Mowe, Ogun State, Adeboye shared a chilling account that underscores the rampant decay gnawing at the nation’s moral core.

As reported by The PUNCH, Adeboye pulled no punches in his critique, boldly asserting that corruption has reached a fever pitch in Nigeria, largely because Christians—who are meant to be a beacon of integrity and righteousness—have succumbed to compromise.

He lamented that those who are called to be “peculiar people,” set apart by their faith, have instead become entangled in the very practices they ought to condemn.

To drive home the gravity of the situation, Adeboye recounted the disturbing experience of one of his spiritual daughters, who was presented with an insidious opportunity to engage in corruption.

According to Adeboye, this woman was offered a road construction contract in a certain state in Nigeria, but there was a catch—a demand to inflate the project’s cost from N3 million to a jaw-dropping N33 million.

The cleric averred that the woman, guided by her unwavering faith and integrity, ultimately refused to compromise her values, turned down the corrupt offer.

He said;

“We talk about corruption in Nigeria. Why do you think corruption has become so deep? it is because we Christians, who are supposed to be peculiar people, are not making any difference. It’s so difficult to even know who is who.

“One of my daughters got a contract to tar a road in one of the states in Nigeria. She gave a proposal of N3 million, but they asked her to put N33 million. She was surprised, turned down the offer and said I am a child of God, how will I spend the money? They looked at her as if she was somebody who dropped from the sky”

Speaking further, Adeboye added: “Another child of mine told another story. She applied for a contract. They gave her to go and tar a road. She got to the road and found that the road was already tarred. She came back and told them there must have been a mistake. They said,” What is your problem, collect your money and give us our own.”
