Nollywood icon Toyin Afolayan, famously known as Lola Idije, has finally stepped into the fray, confronting the whirlwind of rumors that have plagued her relationship with goddaughter and colleague, Biodun Okeowo, also known as Omoborty.

The controversy traces back to Omoborty’s glamorous wedding a few months ago, where she and her man painted social media with their love, sharing radiant photos that had everyone buzzing.

But what should have been a celebration soon turned into a battleground of gossip, as rumors erupted claiming that Omoborty’s husband had once been romantically involved with Lola Idije’s daughter, that Okeowo snatched him from her.

Despite Omoborty’s denial of the allegations in a previous Instagram Live session, the rumors refused to die down. It was only a matter of time before Lola Idije herself would be forced to speak out.

On Monday, October 14, Lola Idije took to Instagram, and in a move that shattered any lingering doubt, she laid the rumors to rest.

In her post, the veteran actress recounted the first and only time she ever interacted with Omoborty’s husband—it was through a phone call where Omoborty had introduced him.

She stressed that she had no previous connection with the man, nor did any of her daughters.

With unwavering resolve, she made it known that Omoborty had never snatched any man from her daughter. She recounted how she personally attended Omoborty’s wedding, stood by her goddaughter as she married the man in question.

She wrote;

“Good evening Everyone, I want to address the story going around since yesterday and to clear the air.

“The first time I ever spoke to Omoborty’s husband was when she introduced him to me on a phone call, I did not know him before that, None of my daughters know him personally.,

“Biodun aka Omoborty did not snatch my daughters boyfriend, l attended the wedding, there is no way she would do that and I still would attend the wedding.

“Thank you and I hope this clarifies everything”
