Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido Adeleke has announced the upcoming release of his highly anticipated debut single for 2024, titled ‘Awuke.’
This marks his return to solo music following the launch of his fourth studio album, Timeless, in March 2023.
While Davido has been active in the music scene through various collaborations such as the popular remixes ‘Twe Twe’ with Kizz Daniel and ‘Ogechi‘ featuring Boypee, Hyce, and Brown Joel his last solo effort has left a significant gap for fans.
The singer’s latest venture into the Amapiano genre, a notable departure from his usual Afrobeats sound, features collaboration with YG Marley, grandson of reggae legend Bob Marley.
This unexpected pairing has stirred interest, particularly given Marley’s reggae roots, and fans are curious about the blend of their distinct musical styles.
Davido recently revealed that ‘Awuke’ will officially drop on Thursday, October 31, 2024.
