The award-winning musician shared a stunning photo of Tiwa Savage and captioned it with the exclamation “Chineke,” which translates to “God” in Igbo.
While many fans appreciated Skepta’s gesture, one netizen, identified as Nonso, took issue with his use of Igbo.
In a tweet directed at the rapper, Nonso wrote: “Oga, you are Yoruba! Stop using Igbo words; we don’t recognize you.”
This comment quickly generated waves of attention on X, prompting Skepta to respond. He expressed confusion about Nonso’s statement.
