Dancing after 36 kids died in Ibadan stampede is wrong – Joe Igbokwe knocks Queen Naomi after bail release
  • Joe Igbokwe has ignited a wave of outrage with his explosive reaction to a viral video speculated to show Queen Naomi dancing after reportedly securing bail in connection with the Ibadan stampede.
  • The clip, widely shared on social media, has become a flashpoint for controversy, with many questioning its timing and implications.
  • Igbokwe, known for his unfiltered opinions, did not hold back as he vented his fury online. He described the alleged act as a gross display of insensitivity

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has sparked heated controversy after accusing Olori Naomi Silekunola, the estranged wife of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, of displaying insensitivity by dancing shortly after her release from police detention.

Olori Naomi had been arrested in connection with a tragic stampede at a Christmas party she organized, which led to the deaths of over 30 children.

Alongside her co-organizers, including popular radio broadcaster Oriyomi Hamzat, she was ordered to be remanded at Agodi Prison in Ibadan by a court in the Oyo State capital.

The incident, which shook the state and left families grieving, has placed her at the center of public scrutiny.

After spending days in custody, Olori Naomi and others were granted bail by Justice K.B. Olawoyin of the Oyo State High Court sitting in Ring Road, Ibadan. Her release, however, quickly took a controversial turn when a video surfaced online.

The video, allegedly shared by those close to her, showed Olori Naomi, her mother, and two other women dancing and celebrating, their faces lit with joy.

While some claimed the video was old and unrelated to her release, others widely believed it to be recent. Among the latter was Joe Igbokwe, who took to social media to express his outrage.

Igbokwe condemned the celebratory display, called it a slap in the face to the grieving families of the children who lost their lives in the stampede. He described the actions as callous, thoughtless, and devoid of any semblance of remorse.

He shared on Facebook;

“These people forgot that 36 Children died in the stampede. This dance is bad behavior, no conscience, no remorse, no empathy, no regrets, no sympathy etc. This is despicable behavior and inhuman.”
