Taking to Instagram, the beloved actor posted a heartfelt message. He wrote:
“Chi efogo, and it is my 70th birthday. What else can I say? To God be all the glory. Special thanks to you all for being part of this journey. I love you all.”
His post was met with an outpouring of love and well wishes from fellow Nollywood stars and entertainment personalities, who flooded the comment section with congratulatory messages.
Actress Uche Elendu wrote: “Happy birthday, my John Bull… 70 looks amazing on you, uncle.”

His portrayal in Stronger than Pain earned him the Africa Movie Academy Award (AMAA) for Best Actor in a Leading Role in 2008.
In 2017, he received the AMAA Lifetime Achievement Award, further solidifying his impact in Nollywood.
Known for his distinct comedic style and iconic roles, particularly in the blockbuster Osuofia in London, Owoh remains one of the most recognizable faces in African cinema.
