Settle your debt – Nicki Minaj calls out Jay-Z

Nicki Minaj and Jay-Z

Rap superstar Nicki Minaj has made headlines after she publicly accused fellow music mogul Jay‑Z of owing her up to $200 million, reigniting long-standing murmurs surrounding Tidal equity payouts.

This dispute reportedly stems from her stake in Tidal, the music-streaming platform launched with Jay‑Z in 2015. Artists including Nicki, Beyoncé, Rihanna, and J. Cole were awarded a 3% stake each.

When Jay‑Z sold Tidal to Square (now Block Inc.) for roughly $300 million in 2021, Minaj claims her payout was limited to just $1 million, far less than her perceived entitlement.

The rapper had earlier also shared what she intends to use the allegedly $100–$200 million to fund educational initiatives for her fans under her #StudentOfTheGame platform—covering tuition, fees, and loan repayments.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) late Tuesday, Minaj demanded immediate action, writing:

“We’ve calculated about 100–200 MM so far. #JayZ call me to settle this karmic debt. It’s only collecting more interest. You still in my Top 5 tho. Let’s get it nigga.”

Minaj also warned that the debt was accumulating interest and quipped that fans who still referred to the rapper as “Hov” would “answer to God for the blasphemy.”.

Media outlets such as MusicTimes reported on her remarks, noting how vehemently she criticized Jay‑Z while pledging to assist her followers financially if the debt is settled.
