Controversial Nigerian activist and social commentator, VeryDarkMan, has stirred up a fresh wave of online reactions following the release of a diss track aimed at three public figures — street-pop artist Portable, Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, and popular Warri-based preacher, Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin.
The social media personality dropped the diss track on Tuesday, sending shockwaves through his fan base and the wider Nigerian online community.
The track titled ‘Ole’, which quickly went viral across platforms such as X, Instagram, and TikTok, sees VeryDarkMan calling out the three men in bold and unapologetic verses.
The viral video captures him delivering his lines with biting energy, as he alternates between insults and accusations in a tone both scornful and sarcastic.
VeryDarkMan’s issue with Portable stems from ongoing online drama and what he perceives as the musician’s erratic behavior and controversial persona. In recent weeks, the two have exchanged words online, with Portable making veiled threats and mocking the activist in multiple Instagram Live sessions. This diss track is seen by many as VeryDarkMan’s musical retaliation, escalating their clash into a full-blown public feud.
The online activist didn’t hold back in his lyrical attack on Governor Monday Okpebholo, who has recently been enmeshed in a public storm over his alleged secondary school certificate. In the diss, VeryDarkMan boldly references the trending topic of Okpebholo’s WAEC result, which has fueled criticism and satire online.
VeryDarkMan also threw jabs at INEC, Nigeria’s electoral body. Though brief, the lines expressed deep frustration with the electoral process and outcomes of recent polls.
Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin, founder of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, was also targeted in the track. VeryDarkMan, who has previously criticized the lavish lifestyles and miracle claims of Nigerian pastors, appears to take aim at what he views as spiritual manipulation and public theatrics by religious figures like Fufeyin.
