Nollywood actress Bimbo Ademoye has shared disappointing news with her fans. The filmmaker revealed her hit movie To Be a Friend (T.B.A.F) has been taken down from YouTube over copyright issues, despite racking up close to six million views.

The 34-year-old actress broke the news in an emotional Instagram post on Tuesday evening, explaining that the removal was due to copyright concerns involving the film’s soundtrack. Bimbo revealed:

“Yea, To Be A Friend is no longer on the YouTube channel, it’s sad but life goes on. We had a bit of situation with copyright issues with sound. No, we didn’t go through back doors and yes, we picked the right channel but it is what it is.”

Although she couldn’t reveal full details just yet, Bimbo hinted that the film could be re-uploaded, which would mean either starting from scratch or continuing from where the views left off. She pleaded:

“If we reupload and start from where we stopped, which is picking up from the 6 million views, I will appreciate if you watch, like, share, subscribe… and if we have to start all over again, I will super duper appreciate it if you share to your friends, family, post on your page, story, anywhere, just to help support this girl because I can’t do it without you.”

The actress admitted the takedown was heartbreaking but remained hopeful, trusting that fans would rally behind her when the film returns to the platform. She said:

“Let’s see how it goes. Are we going to get six million views? I don’t know. Are we going to get over six million views? I don’t know but God is God, He sits upon His throne and watches over us. Thank you very much for loving and supporting me. No distractions can ever break us.”

Released in July, To Be a Friend stars Bimbo Ademoye, Uzor Arukwe, Deyemi Okanlawon, and Kunle Remi. Directed by Great Val Edochie, the movie quickly gained popularity after premiering on BimboAdemoyeTV before being pulled down.

The actress captioned her post with a defiant reminder of her resilience: “Not easily broken.”
