In a shocking turn of events, legendary Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has been blacklisted from flying commercial airlines within Nigeria for the next six months.
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) confirmed the disciplinary action following an incident at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, which reportedly involved the musician’s disruptive and unruly behavior.
Speaking to TVC News, NCAA’s Director of Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, stated that K1 De Ultimate’s actions compromised airport protocol and disrupted standard boarding and departure procedures, prompting the agency to respond swiftly. Achimugu said:
“He has been blacklisted from all Nigerian commercial flights for six months.”
The aviation authority emphasized that safety, order, and respect for procedures take precedence over celebrity status or influence.
Interestingly, the fallout from the incident did not end with K1. According to the NCAA, the pilots involved in the situation have also been temporarily suspended, pending the outcome of a full-scale investigation.
The agency did not disclose whether the pilots’ actions were in support of, or simply connected to, the chaos allegedly instigated by the Fuji star. However, they maintained that all aviation stakeholders must uphold safety protocols without compromise.
While the NCAA has yet to release the full details of the incident, insider reports suggest that K1 allegedly violated boarding rules, possibly attempting to bypass standard procedures. It was an act that was seen as both dangerous and disrespectful in a highly regulated environment like an airport.
It was alleged that the artiste approached the aircraft, Flight VK201 from Abuja to Lagos, on Tuesday carrying a gold flask of unknown content.
Ground staff requested to verify the content of the flask but the musician vehemently refused.
He was seen drinking from the flask and the ground staff suspected that it contains alcohol, a substance prohibited onboard aircraft in Nigeria.
While some fans defended K1 De Ultimate, citing possible misunderstandings or overreactions by airport authorities, others praised the NCAA for not giving celebrities a free pass.
