General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has once again described how he believes his own death will happen—reaffirming a vision he says was revealed to him by God.
Addressing a massive congregation during the fourth day of the RCCG 2025 Annual Convention themed The Overcomers, Pastor Adeboye said he is certain his passing will not be due to illness or old age struggles, but rather a calm and sudden departure after a Sunday service and a meal of pounded yam.
According to the revered cleric, his final moments on earth have already been made known to him through divine revelation. “I will go on a Sunday after service, eat my beloved pounded yam and pass on. No sickness,” Pastor Adeboye declared, drawing silence, then applause, from thousands of worshippers gathered at the Redemption City in Ogun State.
This is not the first time Pastor Adeboye has made such a statement. Similar comments were shared during previous conventions, including in 2022, where he detailed how God had given him a glimpse of how he would be called home.
At age 83, the former university lecturer and global religious leader maintains a rigorous preaching and travel schedule, often speaking at local and international events.
His latest comments came during a sermon titled Possess Your Possessions, in which he emphasized that while God has made certain promises to His children, believers must still fight spiritually to claim them. He illustrated this with biblical references, noting that the Israelites had to wage battles to enter the Promised Land, despite God’s assurances.
“There are things that are already yours, yet you must fight to possess them,” he said, urging Christians to claim their healing, peace, and destiny through prayer and faith. He also warned against complacency, describing the devil as a thief who seeks to destroy lives and steal divine inheritances.
The RCCG Convention, which draws millions of attendees from across the world both physically and online, continues through the weekend. It will culminate with the highly anticipated Holy Ghost Night, where miracles, testimonies, and impartations are expected to mark the grand finale.
