Isaac Fayose, brother to former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, has stirred public debate with his latest video where he made sweeping remarks connecting several trending national issues—from the KWAM 1 airport incident and ethnic politics to celebrity wealth and the ongoing insecurity in Nigeria.
In the viral clip, Fayose weighed in on the controversy surrounding the Suspended ValueJet female pilot Captain Oluranti Ogoyi who drove dangerously close to Fuji music icon, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1, at the Abuja airport.
He claimed that if the pilot had been of Igbo descent, the narrative online would have quickly turned tribal, possibly linking 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi to a conspiracy theory that she had been sent to harm the singer.
Fayose emphasized how social media sometimes fuels ethnic sentiments, reteirated that political opponents like Peter Obi are often dragged into unrelated incidents due to tribal biases.
He further questioned why KWAM 1, despite his wealth and influence, continues to use commercial chartered flights when younger musicians like Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy have already acquired their own private jets. He subtly criticized KWAM 1, insinuating that owning a private jet could have avoided this kind of incident—especially given the singer’s alleged habit of consuming alcohol.
The outspoken businessman also slammed the Nigeria Police Force for failing to take swift action on the ValueJet matter, noting that in other serious countries, KWAM 1 would be under investigation or even in custody.
Fayose didn’t stop there. He condemned the police for rather prioritizing the arrest and alleged torture of activist Omoyele Sowore over his peaceful protest concerning police welfare, while leaving urgent national crises—such as rampant kidnapping in Zamfara and other parts of the North—unaddressed.
The video has since sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians divided over his views, particularly the ethnic and political undertones of his commentary.
