Chioma Adeleke, popularly known as Chef Chi and wife of global Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, aka Davido, recently gave an intimate insight into her personal journey and the dynamics of their marriage.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Noire TV, Chioma reflected on the many challenges she has faced over the years and the unwavering support she receives from her husband—not just as a celebrity spouse, but as a woman with her own dreams and ambitions.
Chioma candidly shared that despite the public spotlight and the pressures of being married to one of Africa’s biggest music icons, her husband remains deeply intentional about supporting her personal growth.
She revealed how Davido continually encourages her to pursue her ambitions and has never let her identity be overshadowed by his fame.
Her words;
“David cares a lot about my dreams,” Chioma explained. “I’ve faced a lot of challenges over time, but he would always ask me, ‘Chi, apart from all of this, what do you actually want to do?’ Then we would have plans and have stuff coming out in the next few months. He really cares about my personal dreams.”

In June 2024, the couple celebrated their traditional wedding ceremony in Lagos, a festive occasion attended by family, friends, and well-wishers. This followed their private court wedding in March 2023, a low-key affair that solidified their union legally.
Looking ahead, Davido and Chioma have set their sights on an extravagant white wedding planned to take place today in Miami, United States.. Davido has revealed that preparations for the event are already well underway, with over $3.7 million reportedly spent to ensure a lavish celebration befitting their status
The story of Davido and Chioma began during their university days, marking the start of a journey that has seen both immense joy and heartbreaking challenges. Over time, their relationship has faced intense public scrutiny and the typical pressures that come with fame and careers in the entertainment industry.
One of the most difficult moments for the couple was the tragic loss of their first child, Ifeanyi, in 2022. The heartbreaking event deeply affected them but did not weaken their bond. Instead, it strengthened their commitment to one another and their family.
