The power couple, who tied the knot in August 2022, recently dropped a breathtaking set of anniversary photos that have left fans swooning and the internet buzzing.
In the photos, Mercy and Blessed went all out with a coordinated black-and-white formal theme that screams elegance.
In one shot, they stand side-by-side, serving power couple energy in matching all-black ensembles. Mercy rocking a tailored waistcoat and skirt combo with beaded details, topped off with a dramatic wide brimmed hat. Blessed channels vintage gentleman vibes in a black three-piece suit with a bow tie.
Another image captures them in a playful yet competitive moment over a chessboard, Mercy poised to make a move while her husband ponders his next strategy.
And then there’s the romantic clincher with Blessed kneeling to kiss his wife’s hand, and a fourth with both keeping a straight face.
Mercy Chinwo, known for gospel hits like Excess Love and Obinasom, first introduced Pastor Blessed, resident pastor of The Waterbrook Church in Lagos to her fans in June 2022 when she shared their engagement photos online. Calling him her “sweet” and praising God for the match, Mercy’s announcement sparked a wave of excitement.
Just two months later, their wedding became one of the most talked-about events of the year. From the colourful Rivers traditional ceremony to the grand church wedding in Lagos, every detail oozed joy, faith, and celebration. Guests included top gospel artists, celebrities, and church leaders.
In October 2023, the couple’s joy reached a new height as they welcomed their first child, a baby boy. Mercy broke the news with the release of her upbeat thanksgiving single You Do This One, dedicated to God for His faithfulness.
